A question we commonly hear at Zen Planner is, “do automations work?” Absolutely. For those of you who were not sold after hearing the short answer, I have the numbers to prove it.

Did you know: Zen Planner subscribers who activated between one and five automations generated 27.57% more revenue than those with zero automations active? Honestly, when I got the statistics back, that number shocked even me. But that’s just one number. Let’s keep going. Did you also know: Zen Planner subscribers who activated between six and 10 automations generated 30.87% more revenue than those who had between one and five automations active? I’ll stop there. I don’t want to spoil the graph below.

I know what you’re thinking, these numbers seem too good to be true. How can these simple automated emails/text messages generate that much money? Truth is, these automated messages can be very powerful.

Let’s dive into some of Zen Planner’s Preset Automations as an example. We looked at clients that had some sort of automated Failed Payment plan active in Zen Planner. This was defined as any database that had one or more “Failed Payment” automation active. These are a few of the most basic and easy to set up automations in Zen Planner’s fitness studio software. The concept: when a client’s payment fails, they receive an email letting them know. That’s it! Zen Planner subscribers that had an automated Failed Payment plan active had a combined past due balance throughout the year that was 31% lower than subscribers that had none active.

This one is pretty straightforward. I would like to think most of us are honest, bill paying citizens. When a member’s credit card expires or is replaced, their gym may or may not be at the top of their list for people they need to notify. This alert allows the member to take action before their past due bills start to pile up. Most importantly, you avoid the awkward situation when a member is several months past due and you have to decide whether you are going to create a payment plan or eat some of the balance yourself.

So there you have it, even simple automations can have big impacts on your business. In my next post, I will cover different strategies to help you implement successful automations at your business. Stay tuned!
