There are several key things that yoga teachers and studios can be doing with Instagram to not only build their brand identity, but to attract more of the students that are right for them. It is also important to make sure that you retain the students that you already have and keep them engaged with you and your studio.

Whether you are just starting out on Instagram or have experience on the social media platform these keys to building your brand image on Instagram will be useful to you. Let’s explore some key ways that you can build your yoga studio’s brand on Instagram.

Take Notice of What is Successful

If you are an avid Instagram user, you probably follow other yoga studios and teachers. Obviously, some posts are going to be more successful than others and some accounts are going to be better than others.

Whether you are new to Instagram or a regular user it is important to look around and see what other teachers and studios are posting.

See what you like.

See what works and what doesn’t work.

Trial and error is a fun way to learn but do your research and accelerate the growth of your brand identity by learning from the people who are already successful.

Share Yourself

Share images and videos of your classes and your studios. This is a great way to show everyone exactly who you are and what kind of students come to your studio.

Posting images of your classes and your studio space is also a great way to diffuse some of the anxiety that potential new students may feel before they decide to come to your classes and studio. Doing a new thing or visiting a new place can be an anxious experience for some people, but if you can show them what your classes and space look like that will go a long way in easing their anxieties.

Share Health

For most people practicing yoga and living a healthy lifestyle go hand-in-hand.

However, while there is an awesome instructor for their yoga classes, most people probably do not have a nutritionist and may not know how to eat a properly balanced diet. You do not have to give dietary advice to anyone! All you have to do is share the things that you are eating and drinking especially if you are good at cooking. This gives your students and potential students dietary ideas without you having to tell them what is right or wrong about what they are eating. They can view your page to inspire themselves to try new recipes and healthier diets.

This also builds your brand as a teacher and studio. It adds value to the lives of your followers without advertising and it positions your brand in a place of expertise without preaching or telling people what to do.

Share Mistakes

A lot of top yoga profiles on Instagram are perfect and polished. While this may look good, it may also turn-off students or make you seem unapproachable.

Do not be afraid to share some of your blunders and missteps with your followers. These humorous little things can go a long way in making your followers feel more aligned with your brand and you as a person. We all make mistakes don’t be afraid to share some of them.

Also, it is fine to post videos or photos that look homemade or amateurish. A lot of content on Instagram is too polished. This can make the content and brand seem unapproachable or unattainable. If you have a quality idea, photo, or video to share don’t worry too much if the lighting or quality is not perfect. It is the content that matters most.
